What is a root canal?

Also known as endodontic therapy, root canal therapy is a dental treatment for removing the infection from inside the tooth by extracting the soft center (dental pulp).
A root canal pretends to maintain (not save) a dead tooth and prevent future infections in the tissues around the root of the tooth.
Basically, what a root canal do is mummify a tooth that is dead, instead of replacing it.

Why don't pull out the tooth?

The most important reason behind obtaining a root canal in Tijuana, rather than an implant is the fact that it’s more straight forward to keep your old tooth, even though it’s dead, since you can still gain from having the structure of the tooth that is dead to chew food and allow you to talk correctly.

The first visit is usually a comprehensive initial evaluation at NO COST.

How is the root canal process like?

At New Age Dental we are always looking forward to implementing better and newer techniques for all our treatments. The root canal procedure will take between one and three sessions to be complete.

Step 1: Cleaning the root canal

You’ll sit in the seat for a couple of hours with your mouth open — this part is rough for most of us. You will be under local anesthesia while the dentist makes a small access hole on the surface of your tooth to remove the dead pulp.

Step 2: Filling the root canal

The tooth is filled with a rubber-like material, using an adhesive cement to seal the canals completely. After root canal therapy you will no longer feel any pain in that tooth, because the nerve tissue has been removed, and the infection has been eliminated.

Step 3: Adding a crown

After the procedure, you’ll need to return to the dentist to restore the tooth with a permanent filling or a crown to improve its appearance and strengthen it, so you can chew properly again.

Symptoms and data that helps dentist evaluate if you need a root canal

Ongoing pain

You will be asked by your dentist about your tooth reacts to cold and hot. Does your tooth get sensitive when you drink cold water? This is really a method of figuring out should you’ve “ “non or ongoing” -ongoing pain that is ”.
The pulp within your tooth may be living enough to recuperate from the hot and cold, suggesting the tissue could recuperate in the event the pain goes away.

Impulsive pain

Fistula on the gingiva: A fistula is a bit white, yellow, or red pimple-seeming thing that shows your gingiva up.
What this tells your dentist is that there’s an illness because there’s blood, pus, and contagious substances attempting to get out and the body is attempting to air out it. The issue is the fact that it doesn’t constantly go alongside the infected tooth — regarding which tooth it’s, the dentist can be misled by a fistula.

Abscess

An abscess is usually found on an x-ray. Bone won’t develop in the region around illness, and illness usually comes from the point of the root, which is where everything is spilling out from the dead tissue within the tooth.

Referred pain

This one is weighed by our dental specialist. Pain referring to different elements of the entire body, like your jaw, ear, this could mean that you have an abscess.
It’s like a ticking time bomb since the disease will eventually blow up as soon as you find out you want a root canal. You’ll much more swelling in case you wait and get more pressure.
You might begin to go numb or might get a poor taste in your mouth. The disease could spread like your heart, to vulnerable tissues. This is the reason people used to die of tooth diseases hundreds of years back.
