Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a treatment planning protocol that allows for careful analysis of the patient’s facial and dental structures through state-of-the-art videography and digital technology.
In order to create each new smile, we have to make an individual and personalized design, making an evaluation from different angles of each patient’s profile and smile.
Creating a design in 2D and 3D. We use the 3Shape Scanner to be able to scan the mouth of our patients.
In special software, a digital smile design is made where you can see a simulation of what your new smile will look like.
Step 1: Dental Evaluation
Visit us to conduct your dental evaluation and find out if you are a candidate for dental veneers; you will also be given treatment plan options so that, together with the specialist, they can choose the best option for each case.
Step 2: Treatment planning
In this visit we will take digital images (mouth and face), and intraoral scanning. The photos are loaded into a computer-aided design program, obtaining a simulation of the treatment to create a mockup. All designs are personalized, focused on the tastes and needs of each patient.
Step 3: Temporary veneers
Once the mockup of the design that we´ll make in your smile is obtained, in this visit, the definitive dental impressions are sent to make the definitive veneers. At the end of the visit, you will go home with temporary veneers with the design proposed by one of our dental cosmetic specialists.
Step 4: Permanent veneers
We make the final adjustments and the final permanent veneers are placed, a final photograph of your new smile is taken.
Step 5: Control appointment
We will schedule a control appointment to make sure that everything is fine with the occlusion of the veneers, also if any small adjustments have to be made, it is done at this visit.
